When it comes to choosing seasonal decor, versatility is the way to go. Choose pieces that work in any room of your home and last through the entire season {for example, fall items that work for Thanksgiving and Halloween}. Now, I don’t believe in “decorating rules” — you have to create a home that fits you, not the rules — but I do use these as general guidelines when I’m shopping. It keeps me from accumulating tons of items that sit in storage most of the year.
Switching to versatile seasonal decor isn’t something that happened in one season. I didn’t throw out all the orange Halloween decor we already owned, in order to replace it with farmhouse-style fabric pumpkins. Instead, it’s a slow process of switching out a few new items each season. If you’re like me, looking to refresh your seasonal decor with versatile pieces, I think you will love this collection of fall art prints and pillows.
Botanicals are an every-season item, that can easily mix with rustic fall decor. Small shop, Coussins Elegance, has a gorgeous botanical pillow that would last you from the early green of spring into the warmth of late fall.

Warm tones instantly remind us of fall and cozy Octobers. Tartan is a classic print that works well from September through the coldest winter days. The EA Shop has both tartan and leather pillow covers — a perfect pair for a cozy vibe.

Apples signal the start of the school year and the warmth of drinking cider, yet they can work year-round. Add a simple black and white pillow to your sofa, like this apple pillow from Linda’s Other Life, for a whimsical fall touch.

Pears are versatile in terms of both season and color palette. A cheeky pear pillow by Petit MushyP would be a favorite for the kids. Plus, a light-colored pear is a bright take on the fall season.
I love my greens, and I do think they work in every season. After all, green is one of the main colors we find in nature. A simple green feed sack pillow, from Woods and Shore, would compliment fall Mums and Christmas evergreens.

Even if you don’t love orange, you can still fill your home with pumpkins and decorate for Thanksgiving. Choose neutral items like this pumpkin pillow from Parris Chic Boutique.

Love this post. That green pillow and green cup print are beautiful! I agree, using pieces that transition between seasons saves both time on decorating and money on buying more decor!
