Play Doll Bingo for a Girl’s Birthday Party (Barbie or 18 Inch Dolls)

Play doll bingo at your daughter’s birthday party. Her friends will love marking doll clothing items, such as gowns, sandals, and bracelets, until they cross off a BINGO to win!

At my daughter’s American Girl Doll birthday, we kicked off the party with a classic game of Bingo. I’d name off doll clothing and accessories, “Gown!, Tights!, Scarf!…”, while the girls marked items on their Bingo board with colorful foam hearts. Once someone cried, “Bingo!”, we’d clear the boards and play again as we waited for guests to finish arriving at the party.

The simplicity and repeatability of Doll Bingo was the perfect way to start a birthday party, because it kept everyone busy (they kept asking to play again and again!) until the rest of the party festivities began. Plus, the doll theme set the stage for all of the fun doll-themed activities that were planned for the remainder of the party.

If you’re looking for a party game for your daughter’s birthday, definitely consider doll bingo (if you are doing a doll themed birthday party, check out this pin the bow on the doll game, too!).

Bingo Games and Scavenger Hunts

Like our scavenger hunt games, this doll bingo game is filled with brightly colored images, in addition to words. The imagery makes the game useable for younger children, who aren’t yet able to read.

The purple, pink, and teal color palette will coordinate with a variety of girl’s birthday party themes. But, don’t feel like you have to throw a party to play doll bingo. This free printable would be a great addition to a playdate, rainy afternoon, or sleepover.

If you want to increase the difficulty or lengthen the game, play the bingo game as a scavenger hunt. Challenge the kids to find each type of doll accessory from their doll toys. Make it especially difficult if you challenge them to “cover all” (i.e. find every item on their bingo board).

American Doll or Barbie Party: Doll Party Themes

What party themes would fit well with a doll bingo party game? Plenty of girl parties would qualify, but I’d especially consider this game if your daughter wants to have an:

  • American Girl Doll Party (or Our Generation / 18 inch doll party)
  • Barbie Birthday Party
  • LOL Doll Party
  • Baby Doll Birthday Party
  • Tea Party

We used the bingo game and a doll’s party hat as part of the table setting for my daughter’s birthday. Immediately upon grabbing their spot at the table, the girls spotted the bingo board and were excited to play the game!

DIY Bingo Markers

For simple, colorful bingo markers, use this simple trick – foam stickers. We selected a glittery, pink and teal set of heart shaped foam stickers from our local craft stores (often, dollar stores carry foam stickers, too!)

But, wait! Don’t peel off the sticker backing! There is no reason to stick the hearts to the game board. Instead, just leave the sticker backing on the foam shapes, and then you can play again and again.

Then, just like the bingo board and doll party hats, clear bowls filled with colorful bingo markers became part of the table decor, too!

Once you’ve printed the boards and the bingo list, cut the list into individual strips of paper and place them into a bowl.

  1. First, have the children cover the free space in the middle of the bingo board with a bingo marker.
  2. Pull one strip of paper from the bowl and call out the item on the strip of paper (ex: hat).
  3. Each child then looks to see if that item is on their board. If so, they cover it with a bingo marker.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 until a child has 5 in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) and shouts BINGO!
  5. Clear off boards and repeat play as long as the children are interested.
