In this Post: Learn how to make DIY Monogram Wall Decor in minutes! It’s a quick and easy project that turns baby’s headbands into Nursery Wall Decor.
We can’t hang on to every baby memento; but not everything has to be sold or given away, either. Though I’m working on a nursery, it’s not for a baby on the way. Back when my daughter was born, we set up a Shared Bedroom for her and my son. Since then, she has been moved into her own room, which is a Nursery/Toddler Room.
Not a baby any longer, she has outgrown — or, more correctly, refuses to wear — her baby headbands. I’m not quite ready to part with these sweet baby items and turned them into monogram wall decor, instead.

And really, it’s not just about my unwillingness to let them go yet. There are some items that we choose to keep — but display those mementos — rather than hiding them in a storage box. Kind of like our Baby Shoe Shadow Box, which displays tiny shoes from both my kids in our stairwell. If you’ve been around long, you know that I’m passionate about Creating a Home and not just decorating a house. I want our walls to share the stories of our family.

Monogram Wall Decor: Instructions
Step 1: Paint the letter {if needed} and choose which headbands you’ll be using. I chose pinks, peaches, and whites to match my daughter’s modern bohemian room.
**As a note: This project won’t damage the headbands, as they can still be worn afterward.
Step 2: Attach the largest floral headbands first, by wrapping the band around the letter.
Step 3: Balance the large florals with medium-large florals on the opposite side of the letter. Double loop the band to attach it tightly to the letter {similar to tying a ponytail}.
Step 4: Fill in the open spaces with smaller floral or bow headbands. Again, double loop the band, and slide it over the florals that are already attached to put it in place.
And that is it. It’s literally a 5-Minute Project as long as you don’t have to paint the letter.
ORC Week 3 Update
Now, many of you are here for an update on the One Room Challenge. First, I bought crib sheets…
… and they aren’t any of the sheets that I featured last week. Why? Well, after going through my stash of accessories, I was considering adding a bit of aqua/teal tones into the room. Then, I got on Amazon to order the original crib sheets and this set showed up as a related product. It was only $20 — instead of $30, like the original. Sold!
So, I’ve modified the modern-boho mood board in order to reflect that change. I still love the overall look and feel of the room’s direction!

I love the addition of the aqua to the mix. Can't wait to see what accessories you use to pull that into the space. And that headband monogram is super cute!
