There are many reasons that Back to School is an exciting time of year, such as new backpacks, picking out school supplies, and returning to a schedule. However, Back to School can also be a time filled with nerves and fears — whether it’s due to a new school, making friends, or academics. Today, I’m bringing you a set of  Lunch Box Notes that are designed to help ease those Back to School nerves, with words of encouragement and joy.  

Who couldn’t use a little bit of mid-day joy, found in their lunch box? I think I’ll take a few myself {wink}.

Free Lunch Box Notes: Supplies

Lunch Box Notes Template {available to download at the end of this post}
Printer + Ink
Cardstock
Paper Trimmer or Scissors
Hole Punch
String
Washi Tape

Free Lunch Box Notes: Instructions

First, download and print the Lunch Box Notes Template on white cardstock. You can print as many copies as you’d like, in order to prep a stash of cards for use throughout the school year.

Next, use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut out each Lunch Box card. You’ll have a set of 6 {or more, if you print multiple copies} printed in full color and ready for you to add sweet notes to the kids!

If you’re like me — and not a morning person — it might be best to fill out the notes beforehand. That way, they are on-hand and ready to go when it’s time to pack lunches. Take a few minutes to celebrate the character traits of your child which make him/her an awesome friend!

Packing a Lunch full of Surprise

The school day can feel long to a child, so greet them with a special lunch box! Of course, you can simply drop the note card into their packed lunch, but you can also get a bit more creative.

For pre-packaged goodies, attach a note card with a hole punch and string. I punched a hole in the corner of a chocolate-filled TEDDY Soft Bakes package, for my son’s lunch.
