Christmas Tree Wreath : Supplies

6 Paint Sticks
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Fabric
Rotary Cutter & Self-Healing Mat or Scissors
Staple Gun & Staples
3M Command Mini Hooks, 0.5 lb
Felt Bendable Garland
Small Gold Ornaments
Jingle Bells
3M Command Outdoor Hooks, 2 lb

Christmas Tree Wreath : Instructions

STEP #1: Make a simple frame with 6 paint sticks and hot glue. I don’t know about you, but we always have leftover paint sticks that aren’t used. Layout the paint sticks in a triangle shape. Overlapping the two on the bottom more than the sides in order to keep the triangle skinny and tall, like a tree.

STEP #2: Next, cut a fabric of your choice into a triangle shape. I chose a black and white print that was leftover from our chair back covers because I like the large-scale, geometric design. Leave a few inches on each side of the triangle to wrap around the frame.

STEP #3: Wrap the fabric around the frame and attach it using a staple gun. I begin at the top of the triangle, in order to center the fabric. Next, I stapled once at the bottom, then once on each side. This staple order aligns the fabric and stretches it evenly across the frame. After that, staple as needed around the frame, but leave several inches between each staple on the sides for step #4.

STEP #4: Attach 3M Command Mini Hooks along each side of the triangle, in between the staples. Have you ever used Command™ Clear Hooks? I have found them to be handy for so many projects and use them regularly around our home.

You can use Command Clear Hooks on many surfaces, such as paint, tile, and wood. They come off easily — without leaving holes, marks or sticky residue — which is important for me when decorating or crafting. If I make a mistake or change my mind, re-hanging is as simple as applying a Command™ Clear Refill Strip while allows you to reuse the hooks again and again.

STEP #5: I picked up a felt bendable garland at Target {similar}, to wrap around the tree frame. As you wrap, tuck the garland into the hooks in order to keep the garland in place. This will be especially important once the ornaments are added to the garland.

STEP #6: Attach small gold ornaments and jingle bells to the garland. I chose gold ornament and bells from Target, for a monotone look. The bells blend right in with the ornaments while creating a soft jingle when the door is opened and closed.

STEP #7: I hung a large Command Clear Hook on the door for the finished Christmas Tree Wreath. The transparent adhesive strips blend seamlessly into surfaces, such as our mint green front door. Hang items such as lights and garland on outdoor smooth surfaces {for example: windows, doors, siding, and trim} with Command™ Outdoor Hooks. To prepare the hanging surface, use a cloth dampened with water or rubbing alcohol to clean. Next, attach the hook and wait an hour before hanging the wreath.

If you don’t want to put a nail hole in your door, but love a Christmas wreath, make this lightweight wreath and hang it on a Command Outdoor Hook.
