How to Make Mod Podge Art

Last week, I showed you how I made wall art using paint and stickers.  This week, I’m going to show you a quick and easy way to make wall art using Mod Podge and scrapbook paper:

For this project, you can use any size canvas that you prefer, but I find using one that is the same size as your paper is the easiest.  For mine, I chose to use a 12×12 canvas and 12×12 scrapbook paper.   After selecting your canvas and paper, grab a bottle of Mod Podge (like the one here) and a medium size paintbrush. If your canvas is a different size than your paper, you will need to first cut your paper down to the right size before moving onto the next step.

Using your paintbrush, slowly add a thin layer of Mod Podge on the canvas.  Next, carefully lay your scrapbook paper on top making sure to smooth out any bumps.  You must complete these steps quickly so the Mod Podge doesn’t dry before the paper is put on top. Be sure to smooth all of the edges as they will want to pop off the canvas.

To seal the paper, add another thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper.  The key to working with Mod Podge is to only use a small amount at a time.  Too much can cause bumps or rips in your paper.  Once you are finished, allow the canvas and paper to dry before hanging it up.
