Throw a Christmas Hot Chocolate and Cookie Party! This fun party theme is colorful and simple, with endearing vintage details.
Apparently, it’s party week ’round here {<– said with a southern accent} because today I’m sharing another batch of simple Christmas Table ideas. But, guess what?! This table setting has a completely different vibe because it is set for a Christmas Hot Chocolate and Cookie Party.
Sound tasty? If so, I bet you’ll love this tablescape that is kid-friendly, colorful, and filled with endearing vintage details.
Plus, my Christmas Hot Chocolate and Cookie Party is just the start of a Holiday Tablescape Blog Hop. Once you finish reading, check out 7 more beautifully dressed tables, all linked at the end of this post.
Gather Supplies for a Hot Cocoa and Cookie Party
Now, two of the supplies must not be skipped. Which two? Why, hot chocolate and cookies, of course! I made pumpkin snickerdoodles and cream cheese cookies with sprinkles for our spread.
For the hot chocolate, you could:
- go super-simple by tucking cocoa packets into each mug,
- make this hot chocolate recipe for a crowd (a crockpot recipe),
- or set up a hot chocolate bar with several versions of cocoa (such as a Peppermint, Hazelnut, or Pumpkin Spice).
I skewered jumbo marshmallows, which double as stirrers and the classic hot cocoa topping.
Lastly, round up the table decor. I gathered everything from around the house, but in case you’re in the market, here are links to similar products:

The centerpiece is a modern white cake stand, topped with cookies, a birch pillar, and a flower-filled canning jar.
Slate Placemats flank each side of the centerpiece, topped with a simple white plate. Atop each plate is a cloth napkin, wrapped with twine and a vintage Christmas light bulb. The “place card” is a red burlap letter.
Each spot also has a vintage Christmas card propped up at the top of the place setting, just for fun! Seriously, how cute are those Santas?
No Special Occasion Needed…
The great thing about this sweet little party? We threw it on a weekday, with only the kiddos. No need to wait for important guests or special dates… throw a Hot Chocolate and Cookie Party anytime!
