In this post: Painting a crib pink and picking out decor for a modern, bohemian nursery. Updates from Week 2 of the One Room Challenge.
We have a pink crib! It's so pretty...

... of course, I'm only sharing a glimpse this week. Such a tease, I know.
Side note: If you aren't into painting, you can buy this modern crib -- and choose from 8 colors! What fun?! It has a 4-star rating and is $119 shipped with Amazon Prime.
Behind it are the freshly painted walls, a soft gray and cream. The yellow and green wallpaper is but a faint memory {hallelujah!}.

Luckily, the second wall was properly prepped and the wallpaper came down in full sheets. Those of you who have removed wallpaper before, you understand the sheer joy of pulling down an entire sheet at one time. Am I right?
Crib Bedding
So, decisions -- I have several to make. First, is the bedding, I love the crib sheet in the mood board. However, it's $30 -- which just seems pricey for baby bedding {yes, I'm cheap frugal}. Here are a few other options that I've considered:
Pink Floral - $25 | Coral Pink Tribal - $20 | Coral Pink + Navy - $20
None of these seem to beat my current pick enough for a savings of, at most, $10. If I were going to go with any of these 3, it would probably be the coral pink tribal sheet. However, I'm afraid it may be too coral for the pink crib.
Drawer Pulls
Next decision: solid or glass knobs? As shown in the mood board, I'm leaning toward glass. Which would you pick?
Pink + Bronze - $22 for 10 | Solid Pink - $50 for 8 | Pink + Silver - $12 for 4 |
I am a little nervous that the glass won't contrast enough with the tone of our dresser. This image, from Project Nursery, is the exact same Hemnes Dresser with pink glass knobs. It's encouraging, and I think that the glass would work just fine, don't you? Of course, the solid knobs are the most affordable... so I've still got some shopping to do.

That's all the updates for this week, but I'm liking the progress towards a modern bohemian nursery. If you've got any great sources for affordable crib sheets, I'd love to hear!

That pink crib is so sweet!
Thanks, Kate!
I'm so excited to follow along with another nursery room! I'll be painting our old crib too, and making pom-pom curtains just like you!
Fun! So much in common 🙂 Heading over to check out your post!
I feel like all baby items are a bit overpriced...but i'm loving all those options you picked for the crib sheets! They are so cute! Any of the knobs work for sure, but I really really like the first option of the pink and bronze. We will be doing our little girls nursery soon too!
So true! Maybe the stores know we are suckers for spending extra money on our babies, haha!
painting a crib sounds like some sort of torture to me, so kudos to you!
I used a paint sprayer -- but it was still much more difficult than painting a solid surface.
Pier One has knobs, as well as Hobby Lobby and Joanns. I like buying knobs from D Lawless though for the best price. Not sure that any of them have pink glass knobs, but maybe. Also, I've seen them at Home Depot lately. Lowes had a few fun choices near the kitchen cabinets. Can you tell that I like to shop? 😉
Loving that pink crib, btw!
Thanks, Emy! Great tips! I had Hobby Lobby on my list to try -- but I hadn't thought about Pier One or D Lawless. I'll check them out!
Oh man, what a difference already! Funny, I linked those exact same knobs for our ORC nursery this week – but mine are from a little-known place called "Not on the High Street." I believe they're around $5.70 a pop, but they ship from UK so I can see why you'd need alternatives. I'd suggest checking Etsy or Home Depot (online).
So, funny! I'll head over and check out your post 🙂 I checked Etsy for sheets -- but didn't even consider knobs!
ahh a pink crib!! so cute! I like all 3 of the sheet options you listed (maybe pink floral the best?). as for the knobs, I vote for glass knobs! They're my newest obsession.
I'm leaning toward the glass, too!
Love the pink crib! I think the glass knobs would be so pretty on the dresser.
Thanks, Jenn!!
Wow you got lucky pulling down that wallpapered wall in full sheets! The details are beautiful and this room will be so pretty- can't wait to see it all together.
I LOVEEEEEEE the pink glass with the dresser! Looks awesome!
Thanks, Kristin! 🙂
I really like the green, and the floral bedding would look cute with a navy blue crib! Nice job!
You've made some great progress! I like all your crib sheet options, especially the coral pink and blue. Looking forward to the next post!
Thanks, Joann!
My first thought was "oh god I hope she used a paint sprayer for the crib"...otherwise YES, that would have been torture, lol! Glad to see that you didn't paint each of those railings by hand. I love my paint sprayer for stuff like this!
Yes! That would have been so time consuming with a brush :/
So cute! Love the mood board! My pick for the bedding would be the Coral Pink + Navy although you may be right - for only a $10 difference I'd probably just get the one I really want. I think the glass pulls will look great too, I say go for it!
Thanks, Tash!
I LOVE the boho style and I'm convinced that I'll do a boho nursery if I ever someday have a girl! I can't wait to see how your nursery comes together. I already know that I'm going to LOVE it.
