5 Simple Spring Home Decor Ideas (Master Bedroom Tour)

Try one of 5 simple spring home decor ideas for a bedroom. Take a Master Bedroom tour featuring easy updates for a spring refresh!

Though it’s not quite spring, we do have some spring-like weather in the forecast (nearly 75° later this week!). Still, I’ve been anxious to start introducing a bit of fresh color into the home. Though I don’t always decorate for holidays, I do often tweak decor for the seasons — using what we already own. Let’s take a quick tour or the master bedroom while discussing 5 easy spring home decor ideas.

5 Spring Home Decor Ideas

1. Fresh Spring Linens

Replace heavy winter linens with lightweight bedspreads or throws.

I swapped out our dark, navy bedding with a lightweight vintage chenille bedspread. In a bright chartreuse green, it instantly brightens the room with a springtime vibe. The vintage print is charming and eclectic, echoing the anticipation of spring.

2. Indoor Plants

Whether live or faux, add an indoor plant (or two, or three!) for spring.

I choose a bold, turquoise planter in which to nestle a faux boxwood. The pop of green on the nightstand is instant spring home decor (that will look lovely well into summer, too!).

3. Colorful Wall Decor

Looking for an instant room update? Hang a new piece of art.

The bold blue and depth of color in this agate stone is striking, hung just to the right of our bedside lamp. It catches your eye from the hall and — though it’s not a coastal print — carries a bit of an ocean vibe.

P.S. This art isn’t even new (it was in basement storage)! Before you buy art, check what’s on hand. You might have the perfect spring print: such as coastal, bird, landscape, and floral prints.

4. Bright Books

Stack pretty coffee table books on night stands or dressers. They’ll do double duty: both bringing in color and adding height.

Bright green books echo the color of the bedspread, further solidifying a springtime color palette in our bedroom.

5. Organize with Trays and Dishes

Satisfy that urge to spring clean by tidying up the surfaces in your bedroom. A tray, dish, or bowl is both stylish and practical.

Originally collected from thrift stores and flea markets, a teal tray and turquoise dish instantly tidy the dresser top. A brass bowl holds earrings; and bracelets are laid out on the tray. Plus – bonus! – it’s much more fun to spring clean like this (you know, as opposed to dusting, right?!).

Spring Home Decor for Less

The best part about this spring bedroom refresh? It cost nothing.

Yep! I didn’t buy any spring home decor products. Everything was either:

  • pulled out of storage or
  • borrowed from another room.

Granted, it isn’t typical spring home decor (no bunny rabbits, easter eggs, moss, etc.); but it still feels more like spring. Rather than buy literal spring decor, I chose pieces that were fresher, brighter, and lighter for a seasonal mini-makeover.

It’s a budget-friendly way to be creative in your home.

Give it a try. Mix things up. Pull forgotten things out of storage. Use well-loved pieces in new ways.

My friend, Kelly from North Country Nest, is also sharing a simple spring bedroom refresh. Take a minute, and go check out her nature-inspired space.

P.S. Did you spot my new candles? Thanks to Shutterfly, I got the chance to try out their custom candles. You can learn more about them, and learn how I designed 3 candles specifically for our home, in my post
