Yesterday, you got a sneak peek of our Christmas Home and 5 Simple Christmas Decorating Tips. Today, I’m back to share our Christmas Home Tour as part of A Very Farmhouse Christmas hosted by Christina’s Adventures. If you like Farmhouse Style, Rustic Interiors or the Fixer Upper look, there are 16 Homes to tour this week.
If you are visiting from Lehman Lane or one of the other blogs on the tour, welcome! My name is Lora, and I’m passionate about creating a home that reflects our family, faith, and history. We’ve lived in our home for 3 years and it’s actually on the market for sale; which means this will probably be our last Christmas in this home. Knowing that, I’ve been focused on really enjoying this house and decorating it for the Christmas Season.
I’ll link to all of the lovely homes at the end of this post, so you won’t miss a bit of Christmas-y Farmhouse style.
Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour : Dining Room
For any season or holiday, the dining room is the first place that I decorate. It’s where we gather to share meals and play board games — filled with beautiful morning light and the warmth of a fireplace.
The Christmas decor in this room began with an Advent Wreath that I made several weeks back. The black candles paired with a green base; became the color palette that I used throughout the dining room. On Black Friday, I picked up 6 strands of garland for only a few bucks each {what a steal!} which worked as the perfect background for a black and green color scheme.
The wreaths above the mantel aren’t Christmas, but I love to mix everyday items into holiday decor. After all, it’s cheaper, right? A large green glass jar and tall wooden candlesticks anchor the ends of the mantel, with some favorite Christmas pieces set in the center. I sprinkled in black and white family photos of Christmases Past, to celebrate our history.
Our antique hutch is one of my favorite spots to decorate and tweak… rearranging plates and mixing in seasonal decor. I’ve long dreamed of surrounding it with beautiful greenery, and it looks just as lovely as I had hoped. Tucked into the shelves are more family photos, a Scrabble Game, precious Christmas mementos and a small Cocoa Bar.
On the opposite end of the room is our Christmas Village, tucked in around plants and set atop crocheted lace on our buffet. Pedestals and bowls vary the heights, creating a small winter wonderland in an unexpected way. You can learn more about this Christmas Village, here.

Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour : Kitchen
A favorite recent project of mine {and so easy} is our folding ruler photo display. For the holidays, we’re swapping out family photos for Christmas Cards. On the opposite side of the window in our kitchen, is a favorite find from the HWY 127 Yard Sale, adorned with holiday cards, too.

Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour : Sunroom
We spend the bulk of our time in this home in the Sunroom on the back of the house. Surrounded by windows and natural light, we use it as an office and the family room. So, of course, this is where our Christmas Tree has found it’s home each year. We visited a Christmas Tree Farm over the weekend which charged the same price for every tree, no matter the height. So, we went big this year… and we love it.
I don’t do a Christmas Tree “theme” because we have plenty of family ornaments. In fact, normally I can’t fit them all on the tree. Not this year, though. This beast of a tree can hold every last ornament {all the more reason to love it, right?}.
Even though it’s not themed, I do have several pieces that make the tree cohesive. I’d call it a folksy or vintage take on Christmas, and made a small NOEL banner to tie into the style of the tree. If you want to know more about the tree, head over to this post. I’m sharing about our Family Tradition of cutting the tree down down, taking memorable photos, and how we decorate it.

Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour : Play Room
To delight the kids, I decorated our Play Room this year with some of our more traditional Christmas items. A darling yellow hutch is adorned with another vintage-style banner and topped with a tiny, snowy, tree. The shelves are filled with Christmas Cards from past years, a vintage Christmas-bulb wreath, and our Scripture Advent Calendar.

Love love love all the decorations! I really like the wreaths that are on either side of the center one in your dining room. What kind of leaf is it? I was trying to find something like that but didn’t have any luck. Also, your Christmas card display is so creative! The old school ruler. Love that idea!

Hey, Elizabeth! I found them at a thrift store, if I recall correctly. And, I’d call them almost like a pine needle style, but not really long needles. Sorry, that probably isn’t very helpful!
