Take a tour of this modern bohemian nursery for a baby girl. Featuring vintage decor, modern boho design, and a pink crib, it’s the sweetest bohemian bedroom!
Today is the reveal post of my daughter’s Modern Bohemian Nursery. This “nursery” is actually a toddler room because — as it turns out — babies don’t stop growing for online decorating challenges (gasp!). So, I think you’ll find that this space is designed for growth. The design is versatile enough for an infant, toddler, preschooler, or young child.
The Inspiration for a Bohemian Nursery
The inspiration piece for the entire room was a macrame wall hanging from the Hwy 127 Yard Yard Sale, last summer. I bought it for $7 with plans to eventually use it in my daughter’s bedroom. Initially, that room was going to be completed in our next home. However, after my daughter started pulling down wallpaper in her nursery, that plan got switched to this house.
The macrame wall hanging is both wall decor and a spot to store her hair clips (similar macrame hanger).

Pink Crib and Pom-Pom Trim Curtains
Standing in the hall, you are looking at the wall with the window and the crib. Flanking each side of the crib are white curtains with pink pom-pom trim (similar pom-pom trim curtain).
The white curtains were extras from when we made DIY Extra-Long Curtain Rods for the Sunroom. My mom took two panels and lined one edge with pom-pom trim from Hobby Lobby. The excess trim, paired with a cup hook, makes simple curtain tie-backs.
The pink crib was previously navy, purchased for my son’s nursery. Several coats of Promise, a soft pink Chalky Paint from Decoart, rejuvenated the old crib and made it perfect for a baby girl’s bedroom.
A floral crib sheet from Carousel Designs features a variety of pink shades — picking up the colors found throughout the room. It also brought in the secondary accent color, an aqua blue.
The ceiling light in the room got a small makeover. It’s not perfect, but a major update from the outdated 80s glass flush mount. My vision for the light was a drum-style DIY flush mount. It wasn’t exactly coming together as planned, so I chose to decoupage the old glass shade with floral tissue paper as a temporary solution.
Modern Boho Wall Decor
Since we are selling our home, I chose wall decor that didn’t require nailing holes in the wall. The feature wall decor is a gallery of floral prints attached with aqua blue washi tape (picking up the accent color and serving a purpose).
A set of hearts cut from an old quilt became a simple garland. The quilted hearts tie in with her baby quilt, which is draped over the rocker.
As a rocker, we used a Poang chair from Ikea (similar to poang chair). If I were having another baby, I’d use this list of the best nursery gliders as a helpful resource, too.
Nursery Storage and Shelving
Next to the chair is a seagrass basket that holds toys, blankets, and books.
Pink glass knobs from Hobby Lobby were an affordable update to an old Hemnes dresser from Ikea (similar dresser to hemnes). Above the dresser, there are two shelves that were installed by the previous owners.
Since the shelves aren’t anything special architecturally, I painted them the same gray as the walls. They blend right in with the Valspar Soulful Grey backdrop. On the shelves are a mix of sentimental, decorative, and functional items.

Vintage Tray + Reclaimed Architectural Piece + Succulent
Itty Bitty and Pretty Art + Lavender Plant + Thrifted Stone Bird + Marquee Letter

On the wall, to the right of the shelves, is a small vignette around the light switch. My friend, Sarah of Making Joy and Pretty Things, tipped me off to the great selection of light switch covers available at Hobby Lobby. This was a perfect solution to an unusual black switch in her bedroom. I ran with the style of the switchplate, and created a small collection of bohemian items.
Her closet even got a little love! This closet makeover is one of my favorite solutions in our home.

Pom-Pom Trim: $9 (50% Off Sale)
Gold Spray Paint for Curtain Rod: $4 (40% Off Coupon)

All my kids are grown, but I love this room. I think there are a lot of ideas that would work in a teen room too. I especially like the simple printable wall decor.
